2014 Crawford Middle School Reality Store
Every semester, cadets have the opportunity to travel to several different middle schools in Lexington where they help students learn to spend money smartly and efficiently at a 4H sponsored Reality Store. Cadets are to wear their issued JROTC uniform, whether it be Class A or Class B, and get to chose whether they use this occasion as a make-up uniform wear, or service hours. Cadets are posted at tables in the gymnasium of the hosting school, and each table has a station pertaining to economics. Students of the middle school are given a starting budget and are then supposed to circulate to all the different stations, buying necessities, paying taxes, giving to charity, etc. Our cadets are to help the students wisely chose the best option based upon their budget. Stations include child care, transportation, clothing, property taxes, occupations, and a variety of other economically related stations.
