Commisioned as a Second lieutenant in the u.s. army from officer candidate school in 1995. he has served as a field artilleryman in troop assignments, both a commander and staff officer and participated in operational deployments in support of operation Iraqi freedom (oif) from 2003-2004 and operations enduring freedom (oef) 2008-2009. he is married to the former meridth mahanes

Army Instructor Sergeant First Class Brian Hunt
Sergeant First Class Brian Keith Hunt enlisted in the Army in 1985 to become an infantryman. He completed Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at Fort Benning, GA; from Fort Benning, SFC Hunt transferred to Natick Research and Development Center in Natick, MA for six months, with a follow-on assignment to Headquarters and Headquarters Company (HHC), 3/6 Infantry at Fort Polk, LA, where he was a radio operator and light vehicle driver. In 1985, he transferred to Korea to C Company 2/503rd Infantry, 2ID, where he was in an infantry squad.
In 1988, SFC Hunt transferred to Fort Campbell, KY, to B Company 187th Infantry. During this time, he held the positions of team leader and squad leader. In 1991, SFC Hunt transferred to B Company 3/21st Infantry in Schofield Barracks, HI, where he was a team leader, as well as an Anti-tank Section SGT. In 1994, SFC Hunt has a Permanent Change of Station (PCS) back to Fort Campbell, KY, to be a part of the Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) Academy and was selected to be a Basic New Commissioned Officer Course (BNCOC) instructor. In 1997, after attending Drill Sergeant School at Fort Leonard Wood, MO, he became a drill sergeant for two years with B Company, 1/61st Infantry at Fort Jackson, SC.
Also, while assigned at Fort Jackson, SFC Hunt was the Commanding General's Driver for Major General Van Alstyne for a year. His next assignment was the Chief Instructor and Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge (NCOIC) for the Combined Arms Division (CAD) at the Soldier Support Institute. During this assignment, he had the opportunity to mentor and train the student officers of the Adjutant General Corps Officer Basic and Captain's Career Courses. The students were trained in all areas of basic Infantrymen skills, rifle marksmanship, and Field Training Exercise (FTX).
SFC Brian K. Hunt's final active duty assignment was to Western Kentucky University Senior Army ROTC as the Primary MS I Instructor and Training NCO. SFC Hunt was also the NCOIC for the Color Guard, NCOIC for the Rifle Team, and the Assistant Coach for the Ranger Challenge team.
