Teams
JROTC consists of five different teams. (Raider Team, Rifle Team, Drill Team, Color Guard Team, and Academic Team). Cadets are allowed to chose which team they would like to be a member of. Teams generally meet Monday through Thursday every week. For further information on each team, click on the sub-page in the main menu.
The Raider Team is what some cadets call the "Physical Fitness Team" of JROTC. This team mainly focuses on the physical conditioning of their bodies, such as training for endurance, stamina, and strength. The cadets also work with navigation by using compasses and reading maps.
The Rifle Team practices shooting with MI-853 Daisies. Before cadets are permitted to shoot, they must pass a test with a 100%.
The Drill Team works on marching and movements "Armed" and "Unarmed". Every Wednesday, when the battalion wears their uniforms, they have a team inspection. Cadets are required to wear the Army JROTC uniforms to practice on these days.
The Color Guard Team marches with the National Flag, State Flag, and sometimes the School Flag at competitions and parades.
The Academic Team practices questions on LEAD Cards. There are four levels of cards, one level for each LET level.
